Vintage Celebration {How perfect is this!} from aplacefortwiggs |
Hello all! I am excited to present a new weekly feature,
Frabjous Fridays!
On this particular day of the week we will celebrate fabulous vintage finds. I am passionate about antiques and vintage items; as I've mentioned before, it's a bit of a family tradition, so maybe it's in my blood. Regardless, I love celebrating the character and personality of antiques and vintage pieces, as well as their unique histories spanning generations.
Before we dive in too deeply, though, a little about the word "frabjous." It comes from Lewis Carroll's nonsense poem "Jabberwocky" and is used to describe a happy day as follows:
"O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!"
Ooh, this is just bursting with joy and I have the most irrational urge to shout it! I have also been positively stuck on this word ever since I re-read "Jabberwocky" to my son last week, with much intensity and snicker-snacking, of course ;)
